Marilyn’s Apple Crisp in the RV Oven or on the Campfire

Marilyn is the gift that keeps on giving! Today’s recipe was shared by Marilyn and I am really looking forward to trying this one.

Many years ago, I would share an apple crisp with a friend when we went to dinner. She would eat most of the topping and I would eat most of the apples. I like the apples, and I was happy for the share. but that topping is also irresistible!

Marilyn’s Camp Apple Crisp Recipe

The ingredients:

4 Apples, chopped

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar

3/4 Cup Flour

3/4 Cup Oatmeal

1 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

1/2 Cup Butter, softened

The Instructions:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F

  • Grease a square 8x8x2 baking dish

  • Cut apples into 3/4-inch cubes and place into baking dish

  • Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle over the apples

  • Bake uncovered 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown

  • Serve warm

    • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
