We are finally on the Mother Road heading from LA to Chicago by way of Route 66, or as much of it as we can find. We’ll be looking for landmarks and history, kitsch and more and sharing those with you here.
We spent the night at Malibu Creek State Park where portions of the TV show MASH was filmed and then headed out to the start of Route 66.

There is surprising magic in the desert when you visit Anza Borrego, a sleepy but giant park in Southern California.
The desert bloom has been incredible and we visit to see just how amazing the desert can be.
We spend some time close to home at the Willits KOA riding the Skunk Train and enjoying California’s beautiful Redwoods.
