We stopped in Kansas City, MO for a few days with family and also to get some work done on the trailer and found some great barbecue, a train-themed restaurant and more.
As we cross over from Texas to Oklahoma we visit some of Route 66’s most famous landmarks including the Big Tex steak house and the Cadillac Ranch.
On this National RV day we find ourselves in Tucumcari, New Mexico after traversing Route 66 through the state. While a lot of the original items on the Mother Road are history there are still some spots well worth visiting.
On our Route 66 road trip we stop in Kingman, Arizona at the Power House Museum and then spend the night with lions and tigers and bears, oh my, at Keepers of the Wild.
We are finally on the Mother Road heading from LA to Chicago by way of Route 66, or as much of it as we can find. We’ll be looking for landmarks and history, kitsch and more and sharing those with you here.
We spent the night at Malibu Creek State Park where portions of the TV show MASH was filmed and then headed out to the start of Route 66.
