A Centennial Celebration for TCT being held in Roswell, N. M. – the UFO conspiracy capital of the US- and aren’t UFOs the ultimate Tin Can Tourists?? This is a pre-registered, pre-paid event with limited spots available. Registration forms are only mailed by request to serious applicants – contact ggleggett@hotmail.com for a form. This is filled on a first come basis with checks sent to regional representative Karen Campbell in New Mexico.
Roswell is a tourist trap- but a fun one. The local McDonalds is shaped like a UFO, alien statues are on city streets for photo ops, the Weirdest Gift Shop in the world really is, and the local park and zoo is worth a walk. Bottomless Lake State Park is a quick 15 mile side trip for those who kayak or scuba dive. It is over a cave system, hence bottomless. The event features a Friday night catered dinner and drive in style movie, Saturday has an open house/craft sale/swap meet and that night a potluck with a huge birthday sheet cake and prizes for the best decorated trailer and best costume. Sunday has a group photo around our 10′ inflatable UFO and a strawberry waffle breakfast put on by fellow campers.
The camping fee is 25 per night and all sites will have two trailers (they are HUGE sites). The event fee is 20 for one person and 15 for additional campers 6 and over. More details will be sent with the registration form.
Registration ends when the event is full and final spot assignments will be made and sent out after March 1 2019
